The Supply Register is currently inviting expressions of interest from qualified and enthusiastic Science Lecturers to join our bank staff supporting NCG South London Colleges, including Southwark College, Lewisham College, and the HE Centre at Harbour Exchange in Canary Wharf.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Science Lecturer specialising in BTEC or Applied Science who is seeking flexible teaching opportunities within a dynamic Further and Higher Education setting.

As a Science Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons that help learners develop both theoretical knowledge and hands-on laboratory skills. Bank Science Lecturer staff play an important role in supporting curriculum delivery and ensuring learners receive high-quality education across Applied Science programmes.

The Role

As a Science Lecturer, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-quality teaching across BTEC and Applied Science courses (Level 1–Level
  3)
• Teaching a range of science topics including biology, chemistry, and physics applications
• Supporting practical laboratory sessions and ensuring safe working practices
• Planning and preparing engaging and inclusive lessons
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback and academic support
• Creating a positive and professional learning environment

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent)
• Relevant degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related subject
• Experience teaching science within Further Education, Higher Education, or schools
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Ability to deliver both theoretical and practical-based learning

Desirable:

• Experience delivering BTEC Applied Science or similar vocational science qualifications
• Experience supporting laboratory practicals and coursework assessment
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
