Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a dedicated Student Support Officer, to join our Student Support & Wellbeing team, and play a key role in supporting students with disabilities and mental health needs.
Salary range: £31,234 rising to £34,827 per year

- Respond to student queries and identify when to refer complex cases to specialist advisers.
- Meet students and arrange agreed reasonable adjustments.
- Support students through the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) application process.
- Ensure accurate, confidential, and timely record‑keeping.
- Work collaboratively across departments to ensure reasonable adjustments are implemented.
- Experience in a customer‑facing environment, able to respond accurately and sensitively to incoming queries.
- Organised, with good attention to detail and comfortable following established processes.
- Able to handle confidential information with professionalism, and work within agreed boundaries of practice.
- Experience in scheduling, diary management, and minute‑taking – especially for sensitive meetings.
£31,234 rising to £34,827 per year, Grade 4 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.
