About the Roles – Protocol Education
Protocol Education is currently recruiting SEN Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Support Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools in Barking & Dagenahm
These roles focus on supporting children and young people with diverse additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD
, and complex learning needs
, helping them access education through structured support, clear routines, and evidence-based educational protocols.
Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants
£13.75 per hour
Qualified Teachers
Paid to scale (dependent on experience and role)
Provide 1:1 or small-group support following school SEN and behaviour protocols
Assist with structured learning activities and emotional regulation strategies
Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised support approaches
Support consistent behaviour management protocols and positive reinforcement strategies
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and wider school staff
Promote independence, engagement, and confidence through clear routines and supportive interventions
Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH (education, care, youth work, or support settings)
QTS required for teaching roles
Teaching Assistant or support experience desirable (full training and protocol guidance can be provided)
Strong communication skills and a calm, consistent approach to supporting behaviour and learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
