We are working closely with a welcoming primary school in Brent, North West London who are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 3 with additional needs, including Autism.

This is a rewarding, long-term opportunity for a calm, patient and proactive support professional who is confident supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom.

You will be supporting a verbal pupil with Autism, helping them to access learning and regulate throughout the school day. The role will include:

• Providing 1:1 in-class support to help the pupil engage with lessons
• Supporting with emotional regulation and transitions throughout the day
• Assisting during break and lunch times to support social interaction and routines
• Helping to adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs
• Using a calm, consistent and positive approach when the pupil becomes deregulated
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement strategies

• Experience supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs
• Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
• Confident supporting emotional regulation and behaviour in a positive way
• Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Previous experience in a primary school or SEN setting is highly desirable
