What You’ll Be DoingAs a Lecturer – ESOL, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that inspire, challenge and support students to achieve their goals. You’ll play a key role in shaping our innovative provision and supporting learners to progress into employment or further study.
- Plan and develop engaging lessons, including the creation of schemes of work
- Develop and implement learner‑centred assessment methods, providing constructive and developmental feedback
- Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students
- Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforcing health and safety standards and promoting compliance
- Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students to support their development and progression
- Keep up to date with industry developments to maintain the relevance and employability focus of the curriculum
- Actively participate in continuing professional development within the education sector
- Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the ESOL curriculum offer
- A recognised teaching qualification with experience of teaching in Further or Higher Education
- Strong lesson planning and curriculum development skills
- Experience using learner‑centred assessment strategies
- The ability to track and monitor attendance, progress and achievement accurately
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for upskilling the next generation and supporting learner progression
