Teaching Assistant – Abbey Wood
A secondary school in Abbey Wood (SE2) is seeking a confident Teaching Assistant to start from February half term
. Under new headship from a committed leader who has spent many years at the school, the school is on a clear journey of improving attainment and strengthening education and training across the community. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is not a wallflower and is ready to be visible in classrooms, contributing positively to education and training while supporting pupils to succeed.
The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with staff to raise engagement, support behaviour, and embed consistent approaches to education and training as the school continues its improvement journey. This is an opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to genuinely make a difference in a school that values confident, proactive staff.
- Supporting pupils in lessons across the secondary curriculum
- Actively engaging students to keep them focused, motivated, and on task
- Assisting teachers with classroom management and behaviour support
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with young people
- Confidence, initiative, and a strong classroom presence
- Ability to manage behaviour calmly and consistently
- A positive, resilient attitude and willingness to get involved in school life
