A cornerstone of this activity is our strong and growing collaboration with industry, including the Modular Bioprocess Industry Training (MBI) and VISION Professional Development programmes. These high-profile courses are recognised for their quality, relevance and impact. We are now seeking an Industry Training Operations Coordinator to play a central role in ensuring these programmes are delivered to the highest possible standard and continue to grow.
Aboutthe Role
This is a highly operational, varied and people-focused role at the heart of our professional development activity. You will lead the end-to-end operational delivery of MBI and VISION programmes, working closely with Module Leaders, academic staff and professional services colleagues from initial planning through to delivery and post-programme review.
You will coordinate all practical and logistical arrangements, including venues, accommodation, travel, catering, AV/IT, virtual learning environments and programme materials. You will be present throughout programmes, acting as the main point of contact for participants and clients, ensuring everything runs smoothly and resolving issues quickly and professionally.
Providing an outstanding experience for our clients and delegates is central to the role. You will communicate with participants before, during and after their programmes so they feel well-informed and supported, anticipate potential challenges and take proactive steps to maintain the highest quality of service.
Alongside delivery, you will contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of the portfolio. This includes monitoring progress, arranging update meetings, collating and analysing feedback, chairing debriefs and ensuring learning is shared with Module Leads, Strategic Alliance partners and departmental management.
You will also support promotion and business development activity, working with colleagues to deliver marketing campaigns, follow up leads, maintain CPD web content and record delegate metrics. You will help identify new programme opportunities, support discussions with academic staff and industry partners, and contribute to building longer-term strategic training relationships.
Financial and administrative responsibilities include managing programme budgets, ensuring timely invoicing and payments, and completing final accounts with the Finance team. You will also support the management of part-time MBI MSc students, including training schedules, registration, progression and record-keeping in line with UCL policy.
About YouYou will have a degree in a biological science, biomedical science, biology or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience, alongside significant experience in a higher education or similar environment. You will bring experience of project management and/or client relationship management, coordinating internal activity to meet the deadlines and delivery expectations of external clients, as well as experience of managing costs and developing budgets.
You will have worked in event planning, programme management and communication and marketing activity, and be comfortable operating across these areas.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to build effective relationships with academic staff, senior decision makers and company executives, and to handle a wide range of enquiries professionally and confidently. You will bring a strong delivery focus, with the ability to progress opportunities from initial lead through to final agreement, and proven customer service skills at the highest level.
