Job SummaryUEL School of Medicine seeks a Medical Education Fellow to help design an innovative, community‑focused MBBS programme launching in 2027. The role involves developing curriculum, supporting simulation and technology‑enhanced learning, producing teaching materials, shaping assessment and admissions processes, and contributing to programme evaluation. The Fellow will work closely with the Medical Education and Curriculum teams and will be supported to complete a PG Cert in Clinical Education and pursue scholarly activity.
Responsibilities- Shape the new MBBS curriculum from the outset.
- Develop teaching materials, assessment tools, and placement pathways.
- Incorporate simulation and technology‑enhanced learning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues across the University.
- Contribute to programme evaluation and quality improvement.
- Support students’ widening participation and address local health inequalities.
- Primary medical qualification (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent) with GMC registration and licence to practice.
- Completed UK Foundation Programme or equivalent.
- Experience developing undergraduate medical teaching programmes.
- Knowledge of healthcare education for local populations and widening participation.
- Understanding and experience of interprofessional education principles.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and establish positive relationships with colleagues across disciplines.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Knowledge of GMC Outcomes for Graduates and Medical Licensing Assessment.
