Music Teacher – Part‑Time (Brent)

3 Days per Week (Mon‑Wed) | Temp to Perm | Start ASAP or After Easter

£145 per day | Open to QTS and Non‑QTS with Whole‑Class UK Teaching Experience

A creative and community‑focused 2‑form entry primary school in Kensal Rise is looking for an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join their PPA team on a part‑time basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves whole‑class music teaching and is confident delivering engaging lessons from Year 1 to Year 6.

Teaching Environment

Music plays an important role in the school's curriculum, with a strong emphasis on singing, rhythm, performance and building children's confidence through creative expression. You'll be joining a supportive team who value high‑quality teaching and work collaboratively to ensure music is accessible, enjoyable and inclusive for all pupils.

Role Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging whole‑class music lessons
  • Teaching across Years 1‑6 and adapting lessons to a range of abilities
  • Developing pupils' musical skills in singing, rhythm, notation and performance
  • Preparing classes for assemblies, concerts or school events where needed
  • Maintaining a positive, well‑managed classroom environment
  • Working closely with the PPA team and wider staff to ensure consistency and high standards
Essential Requirements
  • Experience teaching whole‑class music in UK primary schools (not just peripatetic or small‑group teaching)
  • A DBS on the Update Service
  • Strong classroom management and confident delivery across KS1 and KS2
  • A genuine passion for music education and inspiring young learners
  • QTS is welcome but not essential if you have strong whole‑class teaching experience
Contract & Pay
  • 3 days per week (Mon‑Wed)
  • Temp to perm
  • Start ASAP or after Easter
  • £145 per day
  • Long‑term pay will align with the Main Teacher Pay Scale or Unqualified Teacher Scale, depending on QTS status

This role is ideal for a skilled Music Teacher who enjoys teaching across the whole school and wants to contribute to a vibrant, creative curriculum. It offers a stable, long‑term pathway within a supportive Kensal Rise setting.
