About the RoleIn this role, you will work as a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor
, providing dedicated support to a pupil who requires additional help managing their behaviour and emotions within the classroom environment.
A key part of this position involves supporting a child with social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and develop effective coping strategies.
You will:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Implement behaviour plans and follow agreed strategies
- Help the pupil regulate emotions and manage challenging behaviour
- Encourage positive interactions with peers and staff
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff
This role would suit someone calm, resilient, and confident, with a genuine commitment to supporting children to overcome barriers to learning. Experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
