West Central London Mind are seeking dedicated and compassionate Educational Mental Health Practitioners to join our Mental Health Support Team in delivering outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to schools across Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea.
You Will:
The post holder will provide preventative, evidence-based mental health support to children and young people with mild to moderate needs. The postholder will work collaboratively within schools/colleges to enhance positive mental health and improve access to specialist services when needed.
- deliver evidence-based interventions
- conduct therapeutic assessments and manage a caseload effectively
- support rapid access to specialist services for those with more severe needs
- contribute to delivering a wide variety of psycho educational workshops to children, young people, parents/carers and school staff as part of the whole school approach to mental health
- attend regular supervision, both 1:1 and group to maintain the highest standards of professional practice and continued learning in the role
- empower school staff to identify and manage mental health concerns
- maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluation
- attend multi-agency meetings and support transitions in education/employment
- develop clinical and training materials in collaboration with the wider team
- Delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education settings with mild to moderate mental health problems
- Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services
- Assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children andyoung people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, workingat all times in collaboration with and giving respect to the education function of the setting in which the post-holder is deployed.
- Work in partnership tosupport children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers, families and educators in theself-management of presenting difficulties.
- Work in effective,evidence-based partnership with children, young people, their families andtheir educators in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.
- Continue to apply learning gained on the training program directly to practice.
