Learning & Development Advisor (Band
6) – 9‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Learning & Development Advisor to join our Learning and Development team on a 9‑month fixed term contract. This role is central to supporting the delivery of high‑quality, inclusive learning and development opportunities across the Trust.
About the RoleYou will be an integral member of the team, reporting to the Head of Learning and Development. Your responsibilities include the full learning and development lifecycle, such as onboarding and induction programmes, mandatory and statutory training (MaST), apprenticeship programmes, continuing professional development (CPD) and talent management. You will also oversee learning technologies, including the Learning Management System (LMS) Insight and associated digital platforms, and design, deliver and commission development programmes.
Responsibilities- You will contribute to the full learning and development lifecycle, including:
- Acting as the Trust lead for our Learning Management System, ensuring high‑quality digital learning experiences.
- Producing accurate training data and reports to support compliance and workforce planning.
- Designing and delivering Trust‑wide induction programmes.
- Overseeing mandatory and statutory training (MaST) and aligning content with national frameworks.
- Supporting apprenticeships, CPD pathways, and talent development initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert in a designated portfolio, leading specific projects and sharing knowledge with peers to ensure consistency and continuity of service delivery aligned with our strategic priorities.

Qualifications and Experience- Experience working in Learning & Development within healthcare.
- Strong facilitation, programme design and digital learning skills.
- Experience administering or managing an LMS.
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical abilities.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach aligned to the Trust values of Excellence, Equity and Kindness.
- IT qualifications/competencies for LMS, software and learning technologies or willingness to develop IT competencies relevant to LMS, software and learning technologies.
- Experience in learning and development design, delivery, and evaluation.
- Experience of procuring (design), implementing, managing, maintaining and improving Learning Management Systems.
- Knowledge of learning management system administration (ideally Kallidus / Totara platforms).
