I’m Ava from Create Education, and I’m working closely with a welcoming and inclusive school in Hackney that is looking to appoint a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive and nurturing setting, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play a key role in helping students build confidence, develop independence and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities include:

Providing tailored support to students with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis.
Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
Promoting a positive, calm and inclusive classroom environment.
Assisting with personal care needs, where necessary, in a respectful and supportive manner.
Monitoring and recording students’ progress, sharing insights with teachers and parents.
Encouraging and motivating pupils to engage actively and confidently in their learning.

We’re looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (in an educational or care setting).
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in the Arts or Sciences.
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is calm, patient and adaptable, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
