Pembridge Hall is an independent girls’ preparatory school (ages 4 – 11) of 463 girls set in a tranquil residential square in Notting Hill. Pembridge prepares its pupils for many of the top day and boarding senior schools in the country and therefore works at a level significantly above National Curriculum expectations.

We are looking for a lunchtime supervisor who will oversee all lunchtime duties with the girls.

• Supervision: Monitor girls during lunchtime in the dining hall, playground and park. Ensure that girls are playing safely and adhering to playground/playtime rules.
• Behaviour Management: Encourage positive behaviour and address any issues promptly and effectively, following the school's behaviour ladder. Note down the name of any child that receives a ‘warn’ and communicate directly to the Admin Team at the end of the lunch break, who will contact the form teacher directly.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with teachers and other staff members regarding any concerns or incidents. General concerns may be communicated either directly to the class teacher, through the Assistant Head Pastoral or through the admin team. Safeguarding concerns are to be reported directly to the DSL.
• Assistance: Help younger girls with their meals, including cutting up food if necessary and assisting with any dietary needs, including overseeing allergies.
• First Aid: Report any accidents to the first aider on duty in the park or send children to Katarina if they are injured on the playground.

• Good basic education to GCSE level in literacy and numeracy, or the equivalent.
• Experience of working with young children.
• Ability to assist children on an individual basis, in small groups.
• Clearly explain tasks and foster children’s independence.
• Can successfully supervise children, modelling defined behaviour management policies.
• Knowledge of the needs of young children.
• An understanding of child development and the ways in which children learn.
