Pay: £90–£105 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and creative school in Tower Hamlets specialising in SEMH, trauma, and neurodiversity. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young people who face significant emotional and educational barriers.

The provision is challenging yet deeply fulfilling. You will receive guidance to ensure the right setting for your strengths, and you’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils through practical, visual, and academic learning approaches. The school welcomes graduates of psychology, criminology, youth studies, social sciences, or similar fields, but equally values non‑graduates who bring sincerity, compassion, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities of Learning Support Assistant (LSA):

Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH and complex needs
Build trusting relationships with vulnerable young people
Support learning through creative and practical approaches
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and therapists
Safely manage sensitive disclosures in line with KCSIE
Promote emotional wellbeing, consistency, and positive behaviour
Monitor and feed back on pupil progress
Requirements for Learning Support Assistant (LSA):

Experience in SEMH, trauma, neurodivergence, or youth support
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Emotional resilience and excellent communication skills
Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
Degree desirable but not essential
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
