Overview

Tutor - Romford. Alternative Provision setting for students with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health). Alternative Education. 88 pupils across 2 sites – Romford and Basildon. Subjects include SEMH, ADHD, ODD.

There are multiple opportunities for Tutors with a focus on vocational courses and a holistic approach. This is an Alternative Education school catering to students in Years 9, 10 and 11 who have not coped with or have been excluded from mainstream school. The school places high importance on mentoring, personal development and work experience opportunities.

• Teach small groups in subjects including Maths, English, Health and Social Care, Child Development, and related areas; teaching up to GCSE and BTEC levels.
• Full-time role, Monday to Friday, during school hours.
• Work across two sites (Romford and Basildon) and, where possible, drive to travel between sites.
• Contribute to mentoring, personal development and work experience opportunities for pupils.
• Respond to the needs of disengaged young people and create an engaging learning environment.
• Maintain necessary safeguarding practices and work with DBS requirements in place.

• Experience or ability to teach one or more of the following subjects:
  Maths, Science, Health and Social Care, Childcare/Child Development.
• Teaching up to GCSE and BTEC level.
• Willingness to work across both sites and travel as needed.
• Clear and valid DBS check.
• Passion for working with disengaged young people.
