Reception Learning Support Assistant

Overview

A lovely primary school in Abbey Wood, Greenwich are looking for a Reception Learning Support Assistant to join them ASAP on a full-time basis. In this role you will be joining a large staff team based within the school's Reception Class. You will take on LSA responsibilities and be working closely with the class teacher to plan and prepare play-based learning activities.

You should have good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and how to effectively support younger children to make progress in all areas of learning. You will be involved in teaching early phonics and leading small groups as well as some whole class carpet sessions.

• Carry out LSA duties as part of the Reception Class team and support the class teacher with planning and preparation of play-based learning activities.
• Support younger children to make progress across all areas of learning, with a focus on the EYFS curriculum.
• Teach early phonics and lead small group sessions, as well as some whole class carpet sessions.

• Positive and calm approach with previous experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school or other setting.

This role is offered on a full-time basis (8.30am - 4.00pm) during school term-time.

The school is part of a trust of schools across the borough of Greenwich. It is located close to mainland rail stations with local bus links and parking. As a 2-form entry site, teachers and teaching assistants within the year group work closely together in planning and assessment for their respective year groups. The school is popular within the local community and there is a culture of working closely with parents.
