If so, we want you to join our team as our Employability and Academic Societies Coordinator at City St George’s Students’ Union!
The Students’ Union is committed to supported student employability through annually delivering 40 in curriculum placement experiences for City St George’s students. You will lead on the development and delivery of future in curriculum placement experiences (e.g. Integrated Learning Placements and Micro-placement projects).
The successful candidate will also be integral for developing our support for academic societies empowering them to build community and engage with employers. This is a unique role that works in partnership with City St George’s Careers and Employability team to support the delivery of the Union and Universities employability programme.
Utilising your experience of working with and supporting volunteers, you will be responsible for the administration of academic societies. This includes overseeing and enhancing relevant administrative processes. To effectively deliver placement experiences, you'll also have experience of successful project management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the graduate labour market, in particular the relationship between employers’ and universities. This role will involve engaging a wide variety of stakeholders university departments, graduate employers and passionate academic society committee members, excellent communication skills are therefore a must.
This is a unique role that works in partnership with City St George’s Careers and Employability team to support the delivery of the Union and Universities employabilityprogramme. You will regularly attend Careers and Employability team meetings updating on Union initiatives and supporting the students’ union officer team to providestudent feedback on employability.
Candidates are normally required to work on site 4+ days a week during term time toensure we deliver an excellent service for students, which will predominantly be in Clerkenwell with normally one- two days a week on the Tooting site. There is greaterflexibility outside of term time.
During term time, this position may be required to work flexibly, which could includehours between 9am and 6pm. Additionally, candidates may need to be available forsome evening and weekend shifts as needed.
