Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our SEN unit, supporting children with Autism across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff to provide tailored support to children with Autism, helping them to access the curriculum and develop key social, emotional, and communication skills. This is a full-time role, starting as soon as possible, within a warm and supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with Autism in KS1 and KS2.
Assist with implementing personalised learning and behaviour support plans.
Promote inclusion, independence, and positive interactions.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and parents/carers.
Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children with Autism and/or other SEN.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of pupils.
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
