A supportive Lambeth primary school is seeking a Pastoral Support Assistant to work with pupils across upper KS2 who require emotional and behavioural support to fully access learning. This is a non-class-based role, focused on wellbeing, regulation, and re-engagement rather than academic intervention alone.
As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will support pupils during transitions, deliver short wellbeing sessions, and provide targeted one-to-one support following incidents of dysregulation. You’ll work closely with the SENCo and pastoral lead as part of a well-established inclusion team.

- Work with pupils across upper KS2 to enhance emotional and behavioural regulation.
- Collaborate with the SENCo and pastoral lead as part of an inclusion team.
- Has experience supporting children with SEMH or emotional needs.
- Is calm, resilient, and confident managing challenging situations.
- Can build trusting relationships with older primary pupils.
- Understands restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
- A strong pastoral and safeguarding structure.
- Clear referral systems and behaviour plans.
- Regular supervision and staff support.
