Behaviour Teaching Assistant – PRU (Feltham) – ASAP Start / January Considered
A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located close to Feltham Station is seeking an experienced Behaviour Teaching Assistant to support KS3 and KS4 pupils. This full‑time position offers long‑term stability with potential to become permanent. We seek confident, resilient behaviour specialists who can work with pupils presenting challenging behaviour and requiring consistent emotional and social support.
Role Overview- Supporting secondary‑aged pupils (KS3–KS4) with SEMH needs
- Managing and responding to challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom
- Supporting full classes and helping maintain a calm and safe learning environment
- Assisting the teacher with behaviour‑related disruption, transitions, and class routines
- Using a range of de‑escalation techniques to reduce conflict and support regulation
- Providing 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with high‑level behaviour needs
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students
- Proven experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs
- Strong understanding of de‑escalation strategies and conflict management
- Confident managing behaviour within a secondary educational setting
- Awareness of restraint techniques (training provided if your certificate has expired)
- Able to work full‑time, Monday–Friday
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential
- ASAP start (January also possible)
- Long‑term role with potential to become permanent
- Supportive PRU environment with ongoing behaviour and intervention training
- Excellent transport links – walking distance from Feltham Station
