About the Role

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to teach within a small, specialist SEMH provision supporting pupils in Years 1 and 2, embedded within an inclusive mainstream primary school. The provision offers short‑to‑medium‑term, intensive support for a small number of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with the clear aim of successful reintegration into mainstream learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality, adaptive teaching informed by EYFS principles and the KS1 curriculum
  • Create a calm, structured and emotionally safe learning environment
  • Use relational, restorative and trauma‑informed approaches to support behaviour, wellbeing and engagement
  • Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, positive relationships and engagement with learning
  • Work collaboratively with families, class teachers and leaders to plan and support successful transitions back into mainstream classes
  • Monitor progress and tailor provision to meet pupils' academic, social and emotional needs
The Ideal Candidate
  • A qualified primary teacher with experience or a strong interest in SEMH and inclusion
  • Confident in working with pupils who require a highly structured and nurturing approach
  • Skilled in small‑group teaching and personalised learning
  • Calm, patient and resilient, with a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing
  • A collaborative team player who values strong relationships with staff and families
