We are seeking an Associate Lecturer to teach in Summer 2026 within the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London.
Salary range: £69.68 per hour.

You will teach the module Foundation Year Programming SC10002H3 – Level 3 during April – July 2026, teaching evenings 6‑9 pm, Term 2.
Your role will involve delivering effective teaching, enabling students to complete their studies successfully, and undertaking all related course administrative duties as required.
You should be comfortable with and interested in teaching foundation year students, and familiar with visual programming tools such as Scratch.
Qualifications and ExperienceKnowledge of and experience in the above module, and qualification to the corresponding award level, or equivalent professional/industry experience.
Excellent and innovative teaching skills with a track record of student engagement.
RemunerationPayment is based on an hourly rate of £69.68 per hour (inclusive of pro‑rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked.
The hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and includes a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, covering preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
