An outstanding specialist secondary school in the London Borough of Croydon is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their committed team. This is an excellent opportunity to support students aged 11–19 with ASD in a warm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment, with the potential to become a permanent member of staff.

Each pupil follows a personalised learning pathway and is supported by a multidisciplinary therapy team, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and a School Counsellor. Students work towards a range of accredited courses such as unit awards, Functional Skills and entry-level BTECs, ensuring progress is recognised and celebrated.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide in-class and 1:1 support to students with ASD

* Support learning, development and emotional wellbeing

* Work closely with teachers and the therapy team to implement personalised strategies

* Promote independence, communication and self-confidence

* Help maintain a positive, respectful and inclusive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

* Experience working with children or young people with ASD or additional needs (desirable)

* A calm, patient and empathetic approach

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

* A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing
