Are you a caring and motivated Learning Support Assistant looking to make a real impact in a mainstream primary school? A friendly and inclusive school in Brent is seeking a dedicated LSA to support pupils who need additional help to access learning and reach their potential.

About the Role

In this role, you will support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), working 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom. You will also deliver targeted interventions to support learning, communication, and social development.

The school is looking for someone who is approachable, patient, and adaptable, with the ability to make learning engaging and fun. Experience using PECS and Makaton is essential to support pupils with communication needs.

This is a long-term opportunity within a supportive school that values staff development and offers progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN including ASD and additional learning needs

• Deliver interventions in areas such as communication, literacy, and numeracy

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support in the classroom

• Use PECS and Makaton to support communication and engagement

• Support emotional regulation, focus, and positive behaviour

• Encourage independence and confidence in learning

• Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO

• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN

• Experience delivering interventions

• Confident using PECS and Makaton

• Patient, caring, and adaptable approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
