Position: Student Well-being Officer
Location: Greater London

The Governors of La Sainte Union Catholic School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Student Well-being Officer to join our SEND & Student Support Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to safeguarding and supporting the well‑being of our most vulnerable students.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Student Well‑being Manager to provide targeted support for students at risk of harm, manage safeguarding caseloads, and liaise with external agencies to ensure effective interventions. You will also assist with mentoring, administrative duties, and contribute to the overall safety and wellbeing of students across the school.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Managing a safeguarding caseload and maintaining accurate records.
  • Making referrals to external services and following up actions.
  • Liaising with parents/carers and external professionals (e.g., CAMHS, social care).
  • Supporting mental health provision for students.
  • Monitoring attendance and punctuality for students on the safeguarding register.
  • Assisting with CPOMS and safeguarding email monitoring.
  • Attending multi‑agency meetings and ensuring agreed actions are implemented.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, and experience in handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proven ability to mentor and support young people, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including accurate record‑keeping and report writing.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with a commitment to teamwork and supporting the wider school community.
  • A genuine interest in education and improving outcomes for vulnerable students.
