Our client, a renowned educational institution in Lower Holloway, Greater London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time Teaching Assistant (ASD / SEMH) to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Salary: £90-£100 per day.
Key Responsibilities- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with ASD and SEMH needs, assisting with academic tasks, social interactions, and emotional regulation.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to create a safe and encouraging learning environment.
- Assisting in the preparation of learning materials, resources, and assistive technologies to enhance the educational experience for students.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, contributing to ongoing assessments, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to identify and address individual needs.
- Participating in professional development opportunities and staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices in supporting students with ASD and SEMH needs.
- Fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and caregivers, and acting as a role model for effective communication and problem-solving skills.
