SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?
We are seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded special school in South London. The school supports pupils aged 7-18 with a wide range of abilities and additional needs, including complex learning difficulties. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school maintains an excellent reputation with a high level of referrals.

This is a highly sought-after environment known for its warm, family-like ethos. Staff work collaboratively and support one another, and all team members - including agency staff - are encouraged to take part in weekly training sessions to support ongoing professional growth.

Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00

About the School

Primarily supports learners with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
Consists of 8-9 small classes, each with approximately 6 pupils-some non-verbal or with complex needs.
Provides a caring, nurturing setting focused on holistic development and individual progress.

We're Looking For

Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants.
Individuals with proven experience supporting children with SEN or SEMH needs.
Confident practitioners with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to deliver tailored learning support.

Your Responsibilities

Offer one-to-one and small group support tailored to pupils' needs.
Assist teachers in delivering personalised lessons and targeted interventions.
Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
Promote independence, confidence, and positive outcomes for every child.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support each pupil's development.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children with SEN (in school or similar settings).
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us).
Two employment references covering the past 24 months.
