Overview
Teacher in British Sign Language 0.2 FTE (7.2 hours per week).

Salary: £33,809 – £46,603 (0.2 FTE pro-rata £6,761 – £9,320)
Are you passionate about supporting the deaf community and ensuring greater inclusion? Do you hold a Level 3 BSL qualification or above or have BSL as your first language?
What you’ll doWe are looking for a British Sign Language Teacher – 0.2 FTE, 7.2 hours per week. You will:
- Teach on the Signature suite of BSL programmes, follow the specification and prepare learners for their assessments at the end of their course.
- Engage with all aspects of the teaching programmes to ensure students participate in innovative lessons that motivate while supporting progression and achievement.
- Contribute to high-quality teaching and related curriculum development that meets learner needs; assess learner progress and devise assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets.
- Enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated with Literacy and Numeracy to at least Level 2; you must also have a Level 3 qualification in BSL.
- Ideally, you will hold a Level 4 Teaching Qualification (Certificate in Education/PGCE/Bachelor of Education) or be required to achieve Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) or equivalent within 3 years of appointment.
