Location: Greater London

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 12 PM – 5 PM
  • Additional hours during school holidays for programme support
  • No weekends or public holidays
  • Total estimated hours: 875 per year
Role Overview :

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Programme Coordinator to support our GEAR-UP after-school programme. The role involves designing, planning, and implementing engaging activities for secondary school students, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and providing mentorship to students who need additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Development & Facilitation:
  • Co-create and run engaging after-school and holiday programmes for students (SPACE Crew).
  • Design activities that promote leadership, school connectedness, and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, & well-equipped programme venue (SPACE room).
  • Establish and uphold behavioural and safety guidelines.
Student Mentoring & Support:
  • Build positive relationships with students, providing emotional & academic guidance.
  • Follow up on student absences & identify individual needs.
  • Support at-risk students & those with additional needs.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with school staff to ensure programme alignment with school goals.
  • Liaise with GEAR-UP key personnel regarding student progress & programme updates.
  • Participate in additional duties as required by the school.
Qualifications & Experience

Required:
  • Degree in a relevant field
    OR substantial experience in youth work / after-school programming.
  • Minimum of3 years’ experience working in a secondary school environment (preferred).
  • Proven experience in
    programme planning, facilitation, and rapport-building
    .
  • Experience working with
    at-risk youth &or students with additional needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, & organisational skills.
