Position: Functional Skills English and Maths Tutor with SEN Experience
Location: Greater London

Make a Real Impact as a Functional Skills English and Maths Tutor.

Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEN or SEHM needs? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors. You’ll provide personalised, 1:1 support in Functional Skills English and Maths for Level 1 students. These online and in-person sessions in Hackney offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

  • This job is initially fully online, then will move to be in-person in the Hackney area.
  • Day(s):
    Monday - Friday
  • Hour(s):
    15 hrs/week
  • Time(s):
    11am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm
  • Subject and Level:
    Functional Skills Entry Level 1 English and Maths
  • Start date:

    February 2nd
  • Rate of pay: £35 p/h
What You'll Do
  • Provide 1:1 tuition that is appropriate for the individuals needs and study level
  • Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student
  • Provide targeted support for students with SEN and/or SEMH
  • Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you're providing subject tuition in
  • Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager
We're looking for someone who has:
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years of tutoring / teaching experience.
  • Experience working with students with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The right to be self employed in the UK
