Assistant Headteacher - SEN Secondary School

We are delighted to offer an opportunity for an experienced and passionate leader to join the senior leadership team of a respected SEN school in Hammersmith & Fulham.

The school provides specialist education for pupils aged 11-16 with a variety of needs, including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and speech and language needs. The team is dedicated to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their best.

We are seeking an Assistant Headteacher who is deeply committed to inclusive practice, works collaboratively, and can take strategic responsibility for a key area of whole-school development. This area may include curriculum design, behaviour and wellbeing, teaching and learning, or staff development, depending on the successful candidate's expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and drive a specific area of school improvement.
Champion high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning.
Line manage staff and contribute to ongoing professional development.
Support strategic leadership, daily operations, and safeguarding.
Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive school culture.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Leadership experience within a special or inclusive education setting.
A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and effective SEN provision.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A reflective, resilient, and values-led approach to leadership.
The ability to motivate and inspire both staff and pupils.
