Overview
Axcis Education is recruiting a highly experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child with challenging behaviour in a specialist education setting located in Camden (NW5). This is a full-time, term-time only position and requires a confident, calm, and skilled professional who can support the child to self-regulate, use positive behaviour strategies, and maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 or small-group support for a child with significant challenging behaviour in a specialist setting.
- Support the development and implementation of behaviour support plans and contribute to progress reviews.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to support student outcomes.
- Strong experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.
- Confident in de-escalation and regulation techniques; able to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure.
- Ideally hold challenging behaviour training (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE, or similar).
- Ability to follow behaviour support plans and contribute to progress reviews.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
Based in Camden, NW5. Long-term role with immediate start available. Full-time, term-time only.
