Role OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Early Years Tutor / Trainer to deliver high‑quality teaching, assessment, and skills coaching for apprentices in the Early Years Education sector, from Level 2 to Level 5. The role involves sharing practical knowledge and experience from the Early Years sector to ensure learners achieve their qualifications to the highest standard and within expected time frames.
This is a dynamic role combining learner appointments, training delivery, administrative responsibilities, and staying current with the latest sector policies and procedures. Strong time‑management, organisational skills, and a self‑motivated, positive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities Teaching, Learning, and Assessment- Conduct learner interviews, induction, and enrolment.
- Deliver and assess Early Years programmes, including Functional Skills in English and Maths.
- Plan and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and group sessions.
- Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback in classroom, workplace, or blended environments.
- Track learner progress, conduct regular reviews, and ensure timely achievement.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment materials, and IV documentation.
- Support academic, vocational, and pastoral development of learners.
- Prepare learners for accreditation, assessments, and End‑Point Assessments (EPA).
- Maintain accurate learner records, reports, and references.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of course programmes.
- Manage a caseload of learners, providing tailored coaching and support.
- Monitor attendance, behaviour, and progress, implementing interventions as needed.
- Support learners' social, emotional, and mental health needs through individual and group programmes.
- Deliver personal development, wellbeing, and safety education sessions.
- Provide careers guidance and progression support.
- Celebrate learner achievements and maintain high standards of conduct.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and discrimination‑free learning and working environment.
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare of learners, including vulnerable adults.
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years;
Level 5 preferred - Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., AET, PTTLS, CTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE)
- Assessor Award (CAVA, A1, or equivalent)
- Previous assessing and teaching experience in the childcare / Early Years sector
- Confident and articulate presenter, able to engage learners of all levels
