The school supports students across Primary and Secondary with SEMH. The environment can be very challenging in terms of behaviour, however there are opportunities for progression with this amazing school.

The roles will start on a supply basis and then become permanent between 16 and 20 weeks into the contract.

  Experience of supporting children/young adults with challenging behaviour
• A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with students that have had challenging backgrounds and to be able to quickly build trust
• Worked within a Pupil Referral unit or SEMH school within the past 24 months is highly advantageous
• Experience teaching students within SEN schools or candidates with a mental health support/young offender's background would be strong candidates
• Any experience of restraint training is highly advantageous but not necessary as the school uses this as a last resort in all cases
• Solid knowledge and experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
• Any understanding of supporting children within the foster system is also advantageous or looked after children
• Any background in mentoring young people

The rate of pay is £100 to £105 per day for the right candidates.

Working hours are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Weekly pay term‑time only.

You will need a DBS on the updated service or be willing to pay for a new one that we can help you with if needed.

A sound understanding of safeguarding뀈और child protection is essential for this role. All applicants will be subject to safer recruitment checks, including references and an enhanced DBS check in line with DfE guidelines.
