Primary Behaviour Mentor

We are looking to appoint an experienced and committed Primary Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary school in Greenwich on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for a professional with a strong background in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

As a Primary Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to engage positively with learning and develop effective self-regulation strategies. You will be a key part of the school’s pastoral and inclusion provision, working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group behavioural and emotional support
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs to manage behaviour and build resilience
  • Implement and review behaviour support plans and interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and inclusion across the school
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working with primary-aged children with SEMH needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
  • The ability to de-escalate challenging situations and support emotional regulation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills Benefits
