Job Overview
Axcis is currently seeking multiple dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support students in both mainstream and specialist SEND settings, providing vital support to young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH challenges. You will assist students on a 1:1 or group basis, supporting young adults aged 16+ in our comprehensive supported learning programme.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 or small group support for students aged 16+ with diverse needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH challenges.
- Support students in both mainstream classrooms and specialist SEND settings.
- Engage in a structured learning programme designed to help students with learning difficulties progress academically.
- Contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment for students with additional needs.
- Experience in healthcare, care roles, or working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
- Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting students' development.
- Flexible and proactive approach to working in a dynamic environment.
