Art Technician

About the role

Horizon Teachers are looking for a reliable and creative Art Technician to support a vibrant secondary school in Lewisham. This long‑term role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, is highly organised, and is passionate about helping students thrive in a busy Art and D&T environment.

• A degree in Art or a related discipline, or previous experience working as an Art Technician in a school or studio environment.

• Preparing and maintaining materials, tools, and equipment for Art and D&T lessons.
• Supporting teachers during practical sessions.
• Ensuring classrooms and workshops are safe, organised, and fully stocked.
• Assisting with displays, exhibitions, and student coursework.
• Managing resources and ordering supplies.

• Strong practical skills in a range of artistic mediums.
• Good understanding of safe working practices.
• Organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Confident supporting both staff and students.
