Smart Teachers is seeking a committed and proactive Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive mixed secondary school in East London. This temporary role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people and contributing to a positive learning environment.

• Providing in-class support across KS3 and KS4
• Supporting students with a range of additional needs, including mild SEND or learning barriers
• Working alongside teachers to deliver targeted interventions and small-group support
• Helping maintain a focused, productive classroom atmosphere
• Assisting with pastoral care and promoting positive student behaviour
• Supporting teaching staff with general classroom duties and daily routines

• Mixed comprehensive with a caring, supportive ethos
• Strong emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing, and high expectations
• Well-organised SEND department with collaborative support staff
• Friendly team atmosphere and clear behaviour systems

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in a secondary school or youth support environment
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting learners
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students
• A positive, professional attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and professional boundaries
