Behaviour Mentor - Wandsworth (Barnes into Richmond Area)

SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils primarily in Barnes and Putney, with opportunities extending into the Richmond area. This role is ideal for someone who truly understands that children's behaviour is often shaped by challenging life experiences and who can respond with empathy, patience and consistency.

Many of the pupils you will support come from complex or disadvantaged backgrounds, so a background in care work, youth work, mental health support, mentoring or SEN is highly valued.

The Role:

Behaviour Mentor - Wandsworth
  • Support pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs
  • Build trusting relationships and provide consistent pastoral support
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Support de-escalation strategies and emotional regulation
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs
  • Strong understanding of trauma, attachment and challenging behaviour
  • Care work, youth work or mental health background highly desirable
  • Calm, empathetic and resilient approach
