Job DescriptionThe Role
Kingswood Primary School is seeking a motivated, caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and helping them thrive in a warm, inclusive primary school environment. We are also looking for this Teaching Assistant to have experience of working in the Early Years.
You will work under the direction of teaching and senior staff to support pupils in class, provide targeted learning support, and help maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities Support for Pupils- Provide personal, social, health and welfare support.
- Build positive relationships and act as a role model.
- Promote inclusion and support pupils with diverse needs.
- Encourage independence, participation and engagement in learning.
- Prepare classroom resources and displays.
- Monitor and share pupil progress.
- Assist with behaviour management.
- Provide administrative support, including photocopying and simple record-keeping.
- Support pupils with key learning strategies (e.g., literacy, numeracy, early years).
- Assist children with basic ICT use.
- Prepare and maintain resources and equipment.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection policies.
- Participate in meetings and professional development.
- Supervise pupils at break times and support on school visits.
- Contribute to the positive ethos and wider life of the school.
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in numeracy and literacy, or working towards this.
- Experience working with or caring for children.
- Basic first-aid knowledge.
- Ability to use basic ICT and classroom technology.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A supportive, friendly and collaborative staff team.
