Location: London (Greenford or East London, On-Site)
Salary: £55,000
Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

The roleWe are seeking full‑time Study Skills Lecturers to collaborate with subject lecturers and develop and teach study skills across a range of HE programmes from Foundation to Masters’ Level with our partners (BSU, UoS, OBU) and Pearson. Responsibilities include improving English language and numeracy, organisational and presentation skills, digital literacy, and higher‑order research skills. Flexibility to teach weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required.

What You'll Be Doing- Designing and documenting bespoke courses, digital resources, workshop plans and individual schemes of work to develop study skills in the curricula
- Delivering, evaluating, and improving teaching quality in line with GBS’s Learning and Teaching strategy
- Providing feedback on academic writing and other study skills for individuals and classes
- Delivering tutorial consultations and giving constructive, personalised feedback on assessment criteria
- Recording session details for evaluation and quality purposes and referring students to additional services
- Engaging with VLE and research resources to facilitate online learning activities
- Contributing to GBS quality assurance systems and processes
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)
- Previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area
- Successful track record of teaching adult learners on HE programmes
- Evidence of providing individual and group study skills support to identified learning needs
- Willingness to lead a specific literacy area (reading, writing, critical thinking, numeracy, digital skills, research skills, project/dissertation support, peer‑assisted learning)
- High level of digital literacy and advanced communication skills
- Expertise in digital educational resources development, course design and curriculum development
- DELTA qualification
- Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol and complete within three years) or HEA Fellowship (or international equivalent)
