2 Positions Available. We are looking for an experienced Librarian with a passion for children’s literature to support education in schools.
About UsWe are part of the Learning Resources Service (LRS), a dynamic school library service that supports primary schools across the borough. We provide a wide range of resources, from story props to guided reading materials.
Job Details- Position:
Learning Resources Librarian - Salary: £32,841 – £39,798 per annum (pro‑rota)
- Employment type:
Permanent (Job Share) - Hours:
18 hours per week, 3 days a week (9:00–17:00 on most days, flexible) - Location:
Roehampton, London (on‑site)
The Role
As a Learning Resources Librarian you will work both independently and collaboratively. Reporting to the Senior Learning Resources Librarian, your core responsibilities include:
- Issuing and returning items.
- Shelving resources and maintaining a well‑ordered collection.
- Ensuring physical maintenance of the collection.
- Supporting wider library services and delivery of resources to schools in line with the National Curriculum and teachers’ requests.
The role involves some physical activity such as lifting and moving resources.
Essential Qualifications, Skills And Experience- Experience working in libraries or with collections of written material.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- Good IT skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Formal qualifications are not essential; a relevant qualification or an interest in children’s literature would be advantageous.
