Pastoral Support Officer - Primary (KS1 & KS2)

Are you passionate about helping children grow academically, socially and emotionally?
We are looking for a warm, committed and enthusiastic Pastoral Support Officer to join our friendly primary school team starting in the next week, supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

About this Pastoral Support Officer RoleAs a Pastoral Support Officer, you will work closely with pupils who need extra guidance to help them overcome barriers to learning. You will support their emotional wellbeing, encourage positive behaviour, and help them build confidence and resilience so they can achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities of a Pastoral Support Officer- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with learning, social or emotional needs
- Support pupils with SEMH needs across the school. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of approximately 5-10 students and will also be responsible for delivering social skills interventions
. - Build strong, trusting relationships to support confidence, motivation and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams to deliver targeted support
- Contribute to a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents and external agencies
- Adapt flexibly to the needs of the pupils and the school day
- A proactive, reliable and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer who genuinely enjoys working with children
- Patience, emotional maturity and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships quickly
- Experience in schools, childcare, youth work or mentoring (desirable, not essential)
- Good general knowledge in English and Maths to support pupils confidently
