A supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in Brent is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and social support. This is a rewarding role offering the chance to make a real difference in a child’s school experience and development.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across KS1 and KS2, helping them manage behaviour and access learning

* Support pupils with emotional regulation, self-confidence, and social skills development

* Implement and maintain positive behaviour strategies, reward systems, and visual supports in line with school policies

* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team to develop and deliver personalised behaviour plans

* Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times such as break and lunchtime

* Encourage independence, resilience, and positive relationships with peers and staff

* Monitor progress, provide feedback to staff, and contribute to pupil reports and meetings

* Support pupils in developing problem-solving, conflict resolution, and coping strategies

* Promote a safe, calm, and nurturing learning environment where all pupils feel valued and included

About You

* Proven experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally KS1 and/or KS2

* Skilled in supporting pupils with behavioural, social, or emotional needs

* Calm, patient, and consistent approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teachers, parents, and pupils

* Able to follow behaviour plans but also take initiative to adapt strategies to individual needs

* Reliable, proactive, and committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
