Overview

The Department of Urology at University College Hospital is looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated Clinical Fellow for a fixed term of 12 months from October 2025 in the Stones and Endourology department. The successful candidate will be joining the largest and most prestigious Urological Department in the UK. We are a highly specialist department seeing referrals from across the UK and abroad, and are a centre for excellence and research.

Responsibilities

The post holder will provide a safe and effective service for patients under the supervision of the Consultant Urologist. They will undertake theatre lists, clinics and other clinical activities, lead on the management of inpatients, and undertake on-call duties for the department as required.

  • Primary charge of all patients admitted to the service and day‑to‑day care.
  • Attend ward rounds with the Consultants and visit each of their Firm’s patients daily, assisting the ward‑duty Trust Doctor.
  • Regular clinics with opportunities to see new patients, recently discharged patients, and ongoing follow‑up patients.
  • Opportunities to observe, assist and operate in theatre as directed by the consultant.
  • Prescribe drugs and diets for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Interface with multidisciplinary teams when patients are admitted from trauma and attend weekly MDT meetings.
  • Take part in and present audit and research projects.
  • Teach other staff as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students.
