Job Summary
Applications are invited for a 6 PA Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a special interest in Maternal Medicine. This is a fixed term post for 12 months for a consultant with a special interest in Maternal Medicine primarily based at the St Helier site with Labour ward on call. The post offers an opportunity to join an established team of 32 Consultants at the Trust.

The role is multi-site for all activities, with duties at St Helier Hospital. The successful candidate will support maternal medicine and provide consultant-led Labour Ward care at the St Helier site. There is a consistent 7-day working pattern on the Labour Ward with cross-site working for all staff. The new Consultant will share workload in supervision and training of junior doctors in Labour Ward, antenatal/postnatal and emergency care.

Essential

  • Teaching

    Experience:

    Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
  • Ability to teach clinical skills

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates/postgraduates
  • Experience of supervising junior doctors
  • Experience of teaching Lay groups and other staff groups
  • Ability to supervise postgraduate research
  • Medical education degree

  • ATSM in labour ward practice
