What We're All About at Asterix

We’re fixing the biggest problem in healthcare:
The shortage of highly-qualified clinical staff.

There are not enough doctors, and the system can no longer keep up. Millions of patients wait weeks for appointments. Millions more are stuck on hospital waitlists. Health conditions that can be prevented are missed and go unnoticed.

Asterix is building the only scalable solution: a new model of care where highly-qualified doctors are augmented by AI to make safer, more consistent clinical decisions. Our Doctor

OS platform is becoming the backbone of modern healthcare delivery. We combine rigorous clinical leadership, real-world healthcare workflows, and AI tooling that makes doctors safer and more productive.

We re the first and only company approved to register international doctors to work in UK primary care from abroad. This gives us a unique edge and incredible opportunity. We re already making money and partnering with exciting GP practices who serve 200,000+ patients. We’re venture-backed and recently closed an oversubscribed, unannounced funding round.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role is the interface between Clinical Operations and our Doctor Workforce. You will work closely with the Clinical Operations Team to ensure safe delivery of the service via audits, and supporting doctors where appropriate. This includes feedback to doctors from audits and performance, but also owner doctor experience ’ll play a key role in developing our training and accreditation pathways in collaboration with the team.

  • Audit the clinical work of our doctors to ensure high-quality decision-making, safe practice, and that our doctors follow national and local guidelines.
  • Own and create an industry-leading doctor experience. Provide one-to-one performance management and feedback, offering both clinical and operational guidance, informed by your audit findings, for continuous improvement.
  • Organise and lead bi-weekly CPD sessions to address learning needs identified through audits. These may include small-group case discussions, educational presentations, or mock consultations with structured feedback.
  • This will involve everything from teaching doctors who are learning NHS standards for the first time, to conducting detailed seminars on how to safeguard vulnerable patients and safety net.
  • Develop training sessions for doctors during accreditation. In order to work for Asterix, doctors undergo a structured induction at our accreditation sites. You’ll help design and deliver these sessions to support safe, consistent decision-making across the service.
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams. Give clinical input into our product development process to ensure that the Doctor

OS makes our doctors safer and more productive, whilst putting the user at the center of the experience.

We want this role to develop alongside the growth of the company. We have ambitious goals for this year, and see the role expanding to more clinical ownership of the delivery of the service, such as Medical Director.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years experience working as a General Practitioner in the UK
  • Currently GMC-registered in good standing
  • Excited to be a part of an early-stage startup environment, which means getting your hands dirty with whatever may need support.
  • Experience with EMIS or Systm One, and other primary care software
  • Understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement

Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Points!):

  • Worked in a clinical governance role for a telehealth provider or as a GP Trainer

Our Culture – The Asterix Way

Humble - We assume we’re wrong until the data or a clinician proves otherwise. Curiosity over ego, always.

High-intensity, founder mentality - You don’t wait for permission. You push problems to resolution. You act like an owner of the mission, the systems, and the culture. Solving one of…
