Job Summary
The post is based at the Jefferiss Wing, St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. You will join a multidisciplinary team of Consultants, Specialty doctors and associate specialists, Specialist trainees, GP trainees, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Pharmacists who work in Sexual Health and HIV. Duties may vary over time but you will be expected to participate predominantly in the Sexual Health outpatient services;
providing both scheduled care for patients with appointments and unscheduled care for more urgent presentations. On-call duties are not included in this post.
This job would suit someone considering further training in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health, gynaecology, medical specialties or general practice. The rota is currently a full-time fixed term post working Monday to Friday, with 2 evening sexual health clinics (Mondays and Wednesdays). The post is compliant with the new junior doctor contract. Banding will be paid due to evening clinics (2 weekdays per week, finishing 20:00).

Main duties of the job
Duties may vary over time but you will be expected to participate predominantly in the Sexual Health outpatients. This job would suit someone considering further training in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health, gynaecology, medical specialties or general practice. The Trust Doctor is expected to perform all administrative duties appropriate to the post and when required, within the time limits specified by the Trust.
Full participation in clinical audit and weekly clinical educational meetings is mandatory.
1 The Trust Doctor will be allocated a consultant clinical supervisor with whom they will be expected to undertake regular assessment and appraisals.

Every Wednesday morning we have a (virtual) in-house programme of academic meetings including talks by external speakers, journal club, audit presentations etc. which you will be expected to attend. The Trust has a weekly (virtual) lunchtime grand round meeting. You will be assigned a clinical supervisor for the duration of the post and encouraged to participate in on-going clinical research and audit projects in the department.

The successful candidate will work as an ST1/2 doctor in a busy and dynamic Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health service. Duties will include predominantly a mixture of acute booked and emergency walk in Sexual Health outpatient clinics Monday to Friday, with 2 weekday evening clinics. On-call duties are not included in this post.
Essential
- Education/ qualifications: MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Full registration with the GMC at time of appointment with a license to practice
