This is an exciting opportunity to work and train within our Centre for Endocrine Surgery will have exposure to Endocrine and General Surgery and will be asked to participate in the General Surgery on-call rota.
This is a full-time position working in the General Surgery service within Gastrointestinal Services Division.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will work closely under the direction of the Endocrine Surgery Consultants with duties appropriate to their experience and speciality. They will be responsible for teaching and mentoring more junior staff within the speciality.
Key working relationships will include Endocrinologists, Oncologists, Radiologists, Divisional Management team, Ward Sisters, Clinical Nurse specialists, Enhanced Recovery Nurses, Bed management and discharge support team, AHPs, GPs and patients and carers.

Why Choose UCLH?
- MBBS or equivalent
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practise
- MRCS or equivalent
- Higher Degree
- Demonstrate a satisfactory training history in General and Endocrine surgery
- Demonstrable previous experience in General and Endocrine surgery
- Evidence of achievement of ST2 /CT2 competencies
- Demonstrate ability to meet Trust Values of safety, kindness, teamwork and improving
- Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligently in written and spoken English; ability to build rapport, listen, persuade/ negotiate.
